And then there's the JETSTREAM......
While not intending to reduce nor negate the importance of the current dangers that are still threatening from this nuclear debacle, however, recalling how radioactivity spread when the Chernobyl meltdown happened I thought it would be informative for people to know just where the jetstream is and will be over time.

You can create an http://squall.sfsu.edu/scripts/nhemjetstream_model.html">animated jetstream map showing the movement of air over the past two weeks -- through March 14, 2011.

8. 1. That's assuming the radioactive particles get into the jetstream.
2. If it did, it would probably fall out first before it hits the US, that is a long distance.

11. Right.
Look, I'm not a scientist, nor do I play one on teevee. I'm just putting information out there, not looking for an argument. Nor am I trying to prove anything. On the other hand, I do believe that nuclear energy sucks the Big One and should be COMPLETELY BANNED.

- But other that that, I'm completely non-committal.....

13. I can't see how to tell how far something is moving from Japan.
:(

I don't think I'm stupid... lol. But the jetstream changes shape and all and there's not a little dot or boat or paper airplane to follow along as far as I can tell.

I'm in SoCal so I am monitoring this now.
