I figgered out why progressives can't get coverage of their rallies.
Most of the signs are spelled right, and the media therefor assume we're irrelevant elitists.

1. Not a good reason to loosen the standards, IMO
We need a way to identify ourselves.

3. The traditional media is the state media
Do people have some mental block against accepting the fact that the traditional media is straight up state propaganda and will not cover things that threaten their power? The traditional media is the corporate media, and they report what the corporations want them to report. Read 1984. Read up on propaganda in Nazi Germany, in Soviet Russia, etc. That is what is going on here.

If you're waiting for the revolution to be televised before you believe in it and work for it and hope for it, then it's time for you to get out of the way and let those of us who dumped TV in favor of reality get on with it.

4. I have no such block.
However, the media are the corporate propaganda mechanism. The corporations own both the media and the government. Those who try to explain media bias with simpleminded profit analyses ("It's what sells") are blindered. The media don't exist primarily to make advertising profits (although such are welcome); they serve serve to advance the interests of the Plutocracy.

8. Stop depending on the MSM. Make the Rallies the focus of the
Website News. Every Democratic Website. As they say pull
yourself up by your own bootstraps.

Get a storie on every Rallie being held this week and
feature them frequently.

Indianna, Idaho(Red State) Missouri????? Fla this week

Add any others I have missed.

Tweeters and Twitters figure our creative ways to get the
news about rallies out.

10. I agree.
The reason that the new generation of protests, from Egypt to Madison, are succeeding is because people have taken the responsibility of informing each other into their own hands. The social media have given us tools to take the power back. The Corporate Media are becoming increasingly irrelevant and powerless.

12. All those ivory tower academics and their properly spelled signs
They don't cover it because too much of the audience wouldn't understand what the signs says.

For those unfamiliar, he has been a liberal political activist for over 40 years, talk host for over 30 years, and regularly appears on Ed Schultz and other political programs.

EDIT to add: This broadcast is called "Madison in Madison"!!!
