Westboro Bastard Church to protest funerals of seven kids killed in farmhouse fire.
Just when you thought they could stoop no lower, the Westboro Bastards say they'll protest the funerals of seven little kids killed in a farmhouse fire here in Pennsylvania. May their berth in hell be the hottest around.

http://www.fox43.com/news/wpmt-westboro-protest-perry-fire-funeral,0,5116994.story

"Showing no discernible limit to their insensitivity, and seemingly eager to puff out their chests in the wake of their recent Supreme Court victory, the Westboro Baptist Church issued a press release stating they plan to protest at the funeral of the seven Clouse children killed in a tragic fire in Perry County this week. The release is full of bluster over their Supreme Court victory and claims the fire was a result of God's wrath for Pennsylvania. After all, isn't that where the man who sued them for protesting his son's funeral and inititiated a landmark free speech case resides? The release is replete with misinformation about the circumstances of the fire, claiming Mr.Clouse was asleep in his truck during the fire.

"Perry County District Attorney Charles Chenot has notified the State Police of Westboro's announcement and says there will be a police presence at the funerals. He also says he cannot fathom why the Westboro Baptists would want to protest. "This is a family that's Christian in their beliefs and certainly shouldn't conflict with the beliefs of the Westboro Baptist Church," said Chenot.

"The Clouse family is making funeral arrangements today for the seven children lost in the fire Tuesday night. ..."

2. We should talk them into going over to Japan
protest some of those funerals, see how long they stay alive. Beecause its obvious that the reason for the disaster is because God hate gays. :sarcasm:

God hates Politicians and their Masters who take from the homeless, poor, the sick and those in prison.

Westboro. Given the free speech bar has been set so high, that no amount of pain nor offense can trump First Amendment Rights, a whole new vista of opportunities are open.

Let us publicly celebrate in the name of the Lord every misfortune that befalls one of the many that offend NEW TESTAMENT scripture. Funerals might be a good place to start, if only for the precedent.

*Pharisees who stuck to the letter of the law for their own purposes, were by definition, in today's terms, Fundamentalists.

8. "Can't fathom why they would protest a Christian Family"
Uh.. because they and their "protests" have nothing to do with Christianity. They have to do with money. They go out and protest in hopes that someone will either try to stop them or sue them. Thats how they get their money.

It has nothing to do with Gays or Religion or God.

33. I think that quote is even more telling. What they're really saying is:
"We hate they gays as much as they do, so why are they protesting US?"

9. When one of their own dies,
do they protest with the same sick signs and slogans? Maybe someone should keep track of them and when one dies, picket the funeral with signs that say things like..."Gone home to Satan" or "There is great happiness in heaven and earth on this day" or "Hell has a new resident", etc.

10. Un-fucking-believable. I keep waiting for them to protest
at the wrong funeral and get to meet their god sooner than they expected. One day, they will push the wrong person too far.

I will not grieve.

24. I'm sure there were a lot of people
waiting for the SCOTUS to say that the First Amendment doesn't protect this sort of thing. They'll look at the Second Amendment for their remedies, and nobody's going to see a thing...

17. I just hope someone can keep the kids' mother from seeing these a**holes ... she's pregnant.
It was just announced on the local news last night that the mother of those seven dead kids (who only has one child left)is pregnant. She already has to be in unbelievable pain & stress. Seeing those Westboro creeps could be even more traumatic.

25. The only way to get through to them is to return the favor.
We need to figure out a way to disrupt their funerals, weddings, baptisms, etc. They need to feel the pain they inflict.

21. For crying out loud
the family is Mennonite, they could run circles around Westboro Baptist when it comes to believing and living their beliefs. Plus their form of Christianity doesn't push hate like the Phelps.

Upside, their community is already getting things going on rebuilding their house and is already there to support them physically and emotionally.

23. Indeed. Our local newscasts are filled with stories of people coming to their aid and support.
Three separate funds have been set up to help the family rebuild. They're dairy farmers, so they (and family members and friends) must continue to milk the cows. There's a little 3-year-old to care for, and a new baby coming, so life must go on ...

26. I'm not sure which "beliefs" you're talking about re. Westboro
Westboro believes it likes money an awful lot.

Westboro believes if it pisses off the right person, that person will slap the dogshit out of one of the Phelpses, and they'll have someone to sue into oblivion. (This is how Westboro makes its money.)

Westboro believes suing people into oblivion is a better way to make money than going out and getting a job.

Those are the beliefs Westboro holds evident. All that shit about loving and tolerance in the Bible is immaterial to Westboro's beliefs.

27. Where is that "angel" counter-protest group?
The ones that wear large wings and surround the Westboro Hate Group so their presence is not so apparent?

These guys: http://news-breaking.com/1206/angel-wings/

I think this is the perfect response to Westboro's insanity. Just block the view of them. Don't prevent them from venting, but shield the more sane parts of the world from having to see them.

29. The community is on it
Moments after receiving a text message informing her the Westboro Baptist Church is planning to protest the funerals of seven children, killed in a house fire, Jodi Hillman Taylor went straight to Facebook. She formed the group: Circle of Love. By early evening nearly 2,000 people had joined and close to 200 people planned to attend.

"I'm there and everybody else who's joining me to just say, you know what, this is love, said Jodi Hillman-Taylor, Circle of Love Coordinator. "We're gonna show you. We're a community of people who don't even know each other. I don't know most of the people who have even joined in the group."

The group will wear angel wings made out of a sound proofing material. Hillman-Taylor hopes the attire will muffle the protests of the church.

"We are just there to face up against them but not to yell or battle," said Hillman-Taylor. "This isn't a fight. This is just to show them that they can't do this. This isn't something that is proper and we're gonna show them how love is properly shown."
