Just heard a local tsunami warning while listening to Thom Hartmann.
Some of high schools along coast being closed. I live in San Luis Obispo County. I live kind of high on a hill and can see the horizon of the ocean. I haven't noticed anything unusual yet.

2. Apparently the force went more to the southeast than due east
so the West Coast is likely to see some big swells, nothing more. Plus, it's low tide, something that also helps a bit.

Everything from central Mexico to the south might see more.

Still, better to overreact and stay safe than under react and get nailed.

6. Dumb place to put it, we know
That is more likely to get nailed by a tsunami originating off the coast of the Pacific northwest.

When we have disasters like earthquakes most of
our electric and communications go out, but I'll try.

9. No your heart was in the right place.
I didn't mean to scold you. I was just stating what sometimes happens. Anyway it seems the waves are decreasing, so unless there is another tsunami causing earthquake, the alert is over.
