Largest earthquake ever recorded (Valdivia, Chile, 1960, 9.5 magnitude)

People will be talking tomorrow (Friday) about the Japan quake. DUers can wow them with this information -- ensuing tsunami swept across Pacific, including Hawaii, Japan, Philippines and U.S. west coast.

The 8.9 in Japan compares with the 8.8 quake that hit Chile one year ago, on Feb. 27.
