I heard on NPR with Mara Liasson, a very fair discussion on the situation in WI and other states.

They made it clear that the attacks on unions were purely political and an attack on Democratic fund raising.

9. I think their plan is backfiring
The republicans have succeeded in lighting a fire
that, come election-time could be their undoing.
Working people (especially republican working people)
have no reason to voting Republican.
It's so clearly not in their interest.
Not that it hasn't always been that way...
but I sense this country is beginning to
smell the shit sandwich Republicans are cooking up,
