Edited on Wed Mar-02-11 07:00 PM by walldude
Funny but I swear a couple hundred years ago we had a revolution to get away from leaders who say "Yes the people are speaking, and they disagree, but I WILL NOT CHANGE MY MIND, I will not lose my resolve, I will not back down no matter how many people tell me I'm wrong".

Wasn't the whole fucking point for the people to have a voice?

These people care nothing for the country or the people who are in it. They have gone off the deep end.

Lunacy. The comparisons of these freaks and Gadaffi are not far off. "I will lead my people if I have to kill every one of them to do it".

When I looked at the ballot I never saw the words KING or DICTATOR, OR PHARAOH. Too bad, I guess I need a pair of those "American Family Values" glasses to see through their names.

3. Arthur: "I am your King!" Peasant: "Well I didn't vote for you!"

Arthur: You don't vote for kings.

Woman: Well how'd you become king then?

Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. THAT is why I am your king!

Dennis: Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government! Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcicial aquatic ceremony!

Arthur: Be quiet!

Dennis: Oh but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you!

Arthur: SHUT UP!

Dennis: Oh but if I went 'round sayin' I was Emperor, just because some moistened bink lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

Arthur: SHUT UP! WILL YOU SHUT UP!

Dennis: Ah! Now we see the violence inherent in the system!

Arthur: SHUT UP!

Dennis: Oh, come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help! Help! I'm being repressed!

Arthur: Bloody peasant!

Dennis: Oh, what a giveaway! Did you hear that? Did you hear that, eh? That's what I'm on about! Did you see him repressin' me? You saw it, didn't you?

4. Here in Wisconsin we wound up with someone who thinks he is a king because too many people
didn't bother to vote. Here is a sign I saw in Madison last Saturday:

I hope Democrats have learned the lesson that there is a difference between Democrats and Republicans.

5. we need the Westminster system of government.
Governments that follow that system can end up losing parliamentary support at any time, and forcing an election. The way we have it set up here, with fixed terms of office, is little better than 2, 4, or 6 year elected dictatorships. Removing the rotten ones from office is a lot harder than the British system.

7. Not to mention that said Potentate
has indicated that he has a conflicting and vested interest in serving the Koch Sheiks, over and above his constituency.

We call "Shenanigans!" on this and still, His Majesty rages in his Wisconsin Palace, shouting, "A pox on you all! I shall prevail."

I'm kind of surprised Walker hasn't resorted to pouring cauldrons of sewage or boiling oil on the protesters, yet. Wherefore is our champion who will joust with this foul lecher who deems himself royalty and Lord of the Land?

Serf's up?

10. My favorite chant from all this was "TELL me what democracy looks like" - "THIS is what democracy..
... looks like!" chanted back and forth between a chant leader and the crowd. It's anapest and it's kick ass!

(My previous favorite crowd chant was "Yes, Yes, to Islam; No Chalabi, No Sadaam!" but I gotta go with a home grown favorite now)
