Poll: Obama leads all rumored GOP contenders in Virginia
By Shane D'Aprile - 03/02/11 11:45 AM ET

President Obama is in a solid position to win the traditionally Republican state of Virginia again in 2012, according to a new poll out Wednesday.

Numbers from the Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling show Obama leading every potential Republican presidential hopeful by margins of 6 to 19 percentage points.

Obama leads former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney by 6 points, 48 percent to 42 percent. He leads former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee 51 percent to 43 percent, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich 51 percent to 39 percent.

Obama's largest lead in the state comes in a hypothetical matchup with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. The president leads Palin by 19 points — 54 percent to 35 percent.

Interestingly, Obama himself has less than 50% favorables in VA. The issue, really, is that the repubs are lower than whale shit.

2. Whether you like Obama or not
If McCain or any other republican was president we would be in a far worst place then we are currently in. Is Obama perfect no, but I trust him far more then the republicans.

14. Just off the top of my head:
No prosecution of Wall Street criminals or Bush war criminals. Continuation of Bush policies on domestic spying, military tribunals, whistle-blower persecution, and continued violations of the 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th amendments.

4. Amazing, innit?
I see on some conservative sites that she has lots of people willing to say they love her. One deep site I saw that made laugh was a guy who said he was the proud father of a daughter who was going to be Palin's protege . . . or some such.

Stupidity has no cure.

6. He's going to run for Senate
Too much fresh baggage for a national run.

Can Kaine beat him? I dunno.

7. I've been very disappointed in Kaine, even though I supported
and donated to his campaign for Governor. I think he did a lousy job at the DNC and I am not sure I want him to run for the Senate! Maybe Tom Pireillo (sp?) would do a better job?

17. I like Jim Moran! He was against the war from the getgo!...
That is one reason I voted for him again. He did have some questionable donations but his antiwar position caused me to continue to vote for him. He is generally liberal and that is why I continue to support him.

12. Obama needs to pray that Romney doesn't get the nod
because all of his Wall Street buddies will put their not inconsiderable ocean of cash behind Romney, not Obama, despite all the good things he did for them by selling us all down the river.

With a 3.5 margin of error, that lead could actually be 2.5%, and that is an awfully slim number for an incumbent. Also, the shit-slinging machines have not been cranked up to 11 yet, as they will starting in the Fall.

If Obama had stuck to his promises he would be leading all comers by double digits. Instead, he seems to keep moving to the Right on most issues, losing support on the Left as he goes.
