3. Oh please. If he showed up it would be a huge distraction.
And it wouldn't accomplish anything. Besides, how many of those counter-protesters are packing?

Obama is not a great leader.

17. distraction from what?
Let's see, if the president goes to Madison, will the media that's so focused on the workers and their plight suddenly take off and go to, oh, I don't know, Apache Junction, Arizona, to cover the snow that fell on Superstition Mountain?

If The President speaks in Madison about the plight of the workers, about the rights of the workers, how is that a fucking distraction?

If the right wing starts talking about The President standing up for working people, how does that take the focus off working people?

If The President says, "I put on my comfortable shoes and a warm jacket and mittens and I'm marching in solidarity with working families," how the FUCK does that distract from the solidarity of the workers?

Is anyone really LISTENING to this "Obama would be a distraction" nonsense? IT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE!

Tansy Gold, who sometimes makes no sense, too, but thinks this is just fucking stupid

6. Obama plays very little into this equation.
and frankly, I'd prefer to keep it that way, considering his track record of bipartisan giveaways.

I'm not asking him where he is, because I'd prefer he not get too involved in this.

Also, during the "open mic" portion of the event, someone said, "President Obama, I didn't know we elected a Reprublican."

Maybe Obama meant private, not public workers?

Too sad.

I don't disagree that his presence might hurt more than help, but the remark should at least me addressed somehow.

Frank Rich is right. The WH is just too slow out of the gate on the big stuff.

21. Like the "rite" isn't fired up already?
Do campaign promises now not mean a thing? Are they supposed to be empty words? Do we simply ignore them and vote for the guy who looks best of TV?

Are leaders no longer supposed to lead?

Is Obama supposed to be a figurehead and never actually DO anything? Is he supposed to ignore the rights of workers? The rights of gays? The rights of women? He stood up for gays when he told the DOJ to stop defending part of DOMA. He got into THAT fight, didn't he, even though, horror of horrors, it might get the "rite" fired up. But that's okay???

Montana wants to be able to pick and choose which federal laws it accepts. Scott of FL wants to do away with unions. Christie of NJ wants to do away with unions. Kasich of OH wants to do away with unions. Brewer of AZ wants to kill off with neglect as many poor people as she can. (AZ is already a right-to-work-for-pennies state.)

We should WELCOME the "rite" getting fired up, so they can show their true colors. Let them admit in public that they hate poor people, want only the rich to have anything, are racist sexist pigs who think their version of god is the only one anyone should believe in.

Maybe a few of the benighted working folks who have kept the pukes in power will have their eyes opened.

Tansy Gold, sick of this shit.

19. Disagree.
The Koch Bros are airing ads that say, "Incredibly, President Obama backs the union bosses and floods WI with out-of-state political protesters."

Did those of you outside of WI know that? We're being hit with ads here like it's general election primary season.

For a minute the other day I was pissed that Obama is not more involved - but, fuck that - he needs to keep his distance exactly as he has. He spoke in support - that's all we need. Anymore would turn this into an issue about him. This is a deeper, grass-roots issue. And I saw it with my own two eyes.

Please read up on the 14 Democratic WI State Senators who are "on the run". This is a local issue and the local Democrats are acting like heroes. Be proud of them.

I suggest some Dansko's ... You can really walk your ass off in those things and you're feet won't hurt afterwards.

Plus, I won't see your inactions as a sign that you've been bullshitting us about all of that support of the American worker crap.
