http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/116982223.htmlMadison- The politicians are gone for the weekend but the demonstrators are back at the Capitol Saturday as thousands of protesters gathered for yet another large rally in opposition to Gov. Scott Walker's budget-repair bill.
With a light snow falling, pro-labor activists have encircled the building in a peaceful march ahead of a 3 p.m. rally. The crowds are 8 to 10 people wide with many of the protesters holding signs identifying their union affiliations.
"Speaking with those in our command post, we're on the scale of last week's large demonstration," said Madison Police Department spokesman Joel DeSpain. "We're looking at tens of thousands of people. Unlike last week, there doesn't appear to be a large contingent of those in support of the bill."
DeSpain said Madison Police "continue to be very pleased with the behavior of very large crowds that have been gathering here for the last week and a half. Today, we are experiencing no problems."
