The Midwest battle ground: A battle we can’t afford to lose.
A handful of billionaires, their political servants and their media puppets, are on the verge of crushing what’s left of the middle class. If they have their way, it may well be the end of democracy in America for the foreseeable future. We are close to entering a very ugly era of darkness and barbarism.

Then again, what’s going on in Wisconsin and many other states, is a sign of hope. Union members, and the countless people who support them, have taken to the streets. They’re filled with outrage and a moral certainty that they’re standing up to evil. Evil is a strong word, yet how else would you describe those who seek to own and/or destroy us all?

So here’s my question. Can we permanently eliminate the wealthy, greedy, powerful forces that are dedicated to owning the entire world and every one of us? This is a war that’s been going on since the dawn of civilization. Can we at least start to put an end to it in our lifetimes? Or are sane human beings doomed to go on fighting it forever?

1. We don't have forever.. literally.
That's how much damage we are doing to our planet as we fight these battles.

3. I'm sure that many are now regretting their votes
I wonder if the Wisconsin constitution allows for recalling a goveror (as was done in California).

5. It's tempting to answer, "Yes, we can permanently eliminate the
assholes in the world that are dedicated to owning the entire world and every one of us." It's also tempting to note how something is permanently eliminated. I've often thought of how to rid the world of assholes, but I keep running into the biblical story of the Flood. God supposedly rid the world of assholes a long time ago...and yet look at where we are today. I suspect that most, if not all, of us have the capacity to become assholes under the right circumstances - maybe it's in our genes. By the way, I think the term "assholes" is much more inclusive than limiting ourselves to the rich, republicans, etc. I'm working on what defines an asshole and so far have come up with, "Anyone who lies, cheats, steals, kills, and otherwise does whatever they feel will give them the best advantage, no matter who or what gets hurt or damaged." And, while "assholes" cuts across all political labels, it still goes without saying that not all assholes are Republicans, but all Republicans are assholes. Think about it. If you're not willing to lie, cheat, steal - if you don't think the ends always justify the means, then you're not a Republican.
