To make sure the Army doesn't swing the revolution to the people, with the silent complicity of world leaders more concerned about the stability of oil prices than people's lives, Qaddafi has brought in more than 35,000 North African mercenaries specifically from Chad, Nigeria, Guinea and Darfur. There's a Facebook video of a captured mercenary from Chad (Youtube here). Captured mercenaries confessed they were paid between $12,000 - $30,000 each. Today pamphlet ads were found in Nigeria offering them $2000/day for their savage work.

Is Qaddafi the only one paying these mercenaries? Or are EU governments, with their long history of hiring mercenaries, chipping in? I demand to know.

The UAE has thrown its weight completely behind #Libya aid efforts, definitely good news, they have experience & resources.

There were some scattered reports about a failed #Gaddafi attack on Misurata today. Still not confirmed.

My contact earlier said the skies of Tripoli were calm, but helicopters were spotted in the afternoon.

Rumors that #Gaddafi is using citizens as human shields, placing them in & around Bab al Azizia; not confirmed but not above him.

Helicopters spotted earlier headed to the east and came back. Also seems more mercenaries arrived in Mitiga airport in #Tripoli.

Aljazeera reports citizens broke into #Gaddafi residence in liberated Al-Bayda; among other things, found black magic manuals!

Head of Al-Azhar Islamic University in Cairo called upon Libyans not to obey #Gaddafi and calls him an "aggressor".

Also, Saudi Islamic scholar Nasser Alomar issued a death fatwa against #Gaddafi "to stop his genocide"

Mitiga is a military airport, and seems to be a main #Gaddafi strong hold. He uses it to fly in mercenaries.

Reports we got from Misurata say that the attack was weak and beaten back. Should get more soon.

I just did a couple of quick Google searches. The first turned up only six results. It appears to be the same reference quoted in six different places. It's attributed to a certain "Maitnonides," who was apparently a commentator on the Talmud I never heard of before. Possibly the name was misspelled?

It led to some kind of paranoid "Jewish-Masonic conspiracy" discussion board. It's hard to know what their agenda is, but I suspect Christian fundamentalist and/or Islamophobic, if their bad-mouthing of Al Jazeera is any indication. So it didn't shed any light on Gaddafi's Talmud and Kabbalah books, which might or might not be standard works. It's impossible to tell without knowing more about them.

These are likely cheesy superstitious pulp occultism and/or geared towards black magic. That's the only kind that could possibly interest Gaddafi. He isn't capable of understanding white magic, let alone practicing it. But then NEITHER are the regulars on that discussion board!!! That's what was so unexpectedly interesting to me. One of them said to the others: "Rosicrucians, OTO...they are all the same."

For anyone who knows anything at all about the subject, they are NOT "all the same"! There's all the difference in the world between the Rosicrucians and the OTO. The fact that the regulars on that board would conflate them, and believe there is no difference, points to a Jewish-Illuminati conspiracy mindset.

Another interesting factoid: That bunch is the only group I've run across who seem to believe Gaddafi is the victim of some kind of character assassination plot, and that his crimes are being unfairly exaggerated. To what murky Zionist-Illuminati purpose is unclear, though.

Slam alykom, i am engineer Faisal Al Tabal, brother of the martyer Osma al tabal from the revolutionary Rajban City that is located in west mountain city. Osama was born in 1982, he is 28 years old, and he was the first martyer to fall in the west region, he was killed on the 16th february at 8 PM. Luitenint Musbah Al Arofi came in a big group of cars, more than 20 car and he sneakily entered rajban city because he knows that it is hard to get inside or out of rajban, this is why he sneaked in and out. i wish he comes back so we can kill him on its walls that falls now under the control of the libyan revolutionary. he sneaked in with his group men carrying shotguns and they found a group of youth including my brother. they headed towards them and called them dogs and retroactive and such names, so Osma stood to him and told him courageously-which is expected from him - that he is the dog and the coward. so Musbah told: lie down dog, osmam answered back that he will not and that he is the dog and he is not scared of him or his guns. musbahy and his men then shoot him and he received the bullets in his stomach. he is being broadcasted on aljazeerah with another martyr lying next t him with a green sheet. the doctor is pointing at him with a deep wound of a bullet lying in his stomach and also another wound in his left arm. that is him our martyr Osama that we are proud of, Osama was mumbling the two Shahda loudly before he dies, the Rajban now are requesting revenge for Osama and all the other martyrs who fell who were killed and shoot in a very brutal ways and all kind of weapons. my mother and all of us did him farewell with songs, a huge funeral was held for him. rajban city after the death of osama, and every body knows the city of rajban the city that fought against the Italian colony the city of the martyr mohammed alkeley who is well known and many others. rajban city does not accept humiliation or anyone to shed blood of its sons and youth.

woe to you musbah al marofim woe to you since rajban is a free city now and protected by its youth who are armed now. we dare any of you or your men to enter it now, just like the city of zintan, jado, efran, kotla, ghryan and many other cities of west mountain who announced revolution they did for the sake of the bloodshed of all martyrs.
and from here i would like to express my condolences to all the martyrs family, actually i congratulate them because their sons dies for a cause of allah, martyrs, martyrs, martyrs. and a final word i would like to say, please don't let Musbah al Marofi run a way, woe to you woe to you specifically. and to all of those who has a hand in all the killing, stealing shooting of those mercenaries and all those corrupted people. la ellah ella allah mohammed is his prophet, and more fighting youth are here, go on go on fighters. this is not revolution, this is not struggle, this is the february 17th movement, la ellah ella allah mohammed is his prophet. we are proud of Osama and proud that he died as a martyr, and he is not better than all the other martyrs of banghazi or derna or albaydha and all the other Libyan cities like Mesrata, Zawaya and other areas of the west. we sole our souls to allah and we will not accept humiliation. he died courageously, all libyans are men. be proud mothers all your sons are men.

On Friday, pro-Gadhafi militiamen — including snipers — fired on protesters trying to mount the first significant anti-government marches in days in Tripoli, residents said. The Libyan leader, speaking from the ramparts of a historic Tripoli fort, called on his supporters to prepare to defend the nation.

Outside the capital, rebels held a long swath of about half of Libya's 1,000-mile (1,600-kilometer) Mediterranean coastline where most of the population lives and even captured a brigadier general and a soldier as the Libyan army tried to retake an air base east of Tripoli. Several cities in the Gadhafi-held pocket of northwestern Libya around Tripoli also have fallen to the rebellion.
