A Facebook post from a Conservative friend in response to the Georgia Teabagger story.

So yeah, I posted this one in my account as kind of an indicator that rampant, out-in-the-open threatening racism still exists in 2011 to see what people would think.

One conservative friend, interestingly enough, posted this:

So the teabaggers are racists that want to murder their opposition, I've gathered that.

Where do I sign up for the conservative group that wants fiscal responsibility in Washington and does not want to murder colored people?

Not bad. So I said:

xxxx, get with the program; they're now called "Democrats". That other party is now the "Batshit Insane, Trickle-Down-Loving, Red-Baiting, Theocracy-Installing Lunatics Calling Themselves Republicans".

There really seems to be no choice for people who are saying:

"STOP wasting asstons of OUR cash on needless long-term "terror" occupations AND shitty Pork Projects,

STOP giving everything to the rich thinking they're magically going to be benevolent because they ain't,

STOP the "trickle down" because it doesn't work,

STOP tossing wedge issues as convenient distractions,

STOP with your "divide and conquer" crap,

STOP allowing lobbyists and Big Business to take over America, and

START rebuilding our infrastructure,

START innovation again (remember that the Internet started in the military, what happened with that mindset),

START caring more about this planet's health,

START holding white collar criminals accountable, make them pay when they fuck the economy up (I'm looking at YOU, SEC) and set new rules so they don't operate their businesses like suit-and-tie casinos . . .

but most of all, START caring more about the working/middle/poor of this country and not leaving their grandchildren footing the bill for the needs of an overfed handful who has received WAY too much these past 30 years and has returned WAY too little."

Face facts: "Ownership Society", "Personal Responsibility" and "We're the change we've been waiting for" all mean the same damned thing . . . "You're on your own."

Obviously, we're not going to reach the Red-Baiting racist Glenn Beck slobberers, but I think the more reasonable ones can be steered away from the Michelle Bachmann Party.

This really is interesting - I wonder if I was able to find some common ground.

3. Isn't this the point of Chris Hedge's new book?
"Death of the Liberal Class"? Haven't read it, but what I've heard from Hedges himself seems to align with what Thom Hartmann is always saying - that the people who used to be Republicans are now Democrats -- that anywhere else in the world, the Democrats would be considered a conservative party, and our conservatives are just bat-shit crazy fascists. And that we need to re-take the Democratic party.

4. But what's hilarious is how they still insist the Democratic party is so "LEFTIST".
This is why the world laughs at us. Most people wouldn't know "left" if it bit them in their red, white and blue asses.
