Some Republicans soften tough talk on Unions
WASHINGTON -- With a wary eye on Wisconsin, Republican leaders in several states are toning down the tough talk against public employee unions and, in some cases, abandoning anti-union measures altogether.

Indiana's governor urged GOP lawmakers to give up on a "right to work" bill for fear the backlash could derail the rest of his agenda. In Ohio, senators plan to soften a bill that would have banned all collective bargaining by state workers. And in Michigan, the Republican governor says he'd rather negotiate with public employees than pick a fight.

That's hardly enough to set labor leaders celebrating. They still face a slew of measures in dozens of states that seek to curb union rights. But union officials say they believe the sustained protests in Wisconsin, Ohio and other states are making an impact.

"It's still too early to tell, but I think the reaction that we're seeing from governors in other states really shows the power of workers standing together," said Naomi Walker, director of state government relations at the AFL-CIO.

1. Screw them.
Too little, too late.

The GOP hates unions of any kind.

They should fear them, given what they've done to the working class in America.

4. They're Just Looking For Another Way...
...to accomplish what their billionaire puppetmasters don't want but demand! If you think they're gonna give up...just wait...they'll find ways to try to sneak these regressive laws through the backdoor. The unions and its supporters need to ready to face down any and all of these attempts. This is the first steps in a long struggle and the rich and their rushpublican toadies firmly believe they'll wait you out, starve you out or just wait for you to get bored and then finish the dirty work...

5. There are Union Members that support Republicans. Oten
Police and Firemen do. The Republicans just
alienated another group. By Unifying all\
Unions Public and Private, they kicked another
group to the side of the Road. Thank God all
the Unions now should understand the Republicans
are not their friends. Put down Immigrants,
back to threatening old people with SS. Where are
their voters in the next election.

7. Koch bros. wants everyone to be WalMart workers
they are gleefully rubbing their hands together at the prospects.

I am quite fired up about the national public unification, making sure the lowly little worker bee has a collective voice. Something that can be heard over Koch's rattling money jar.
