6. The EGO. They are incapable of seeing another side to any viewpoint
for to do so would destroy it. Their EGO is that fragile.

7. most don't hold that view
until they are told to. Most root team Republican. Only once they are told their position and are given/told reasons to hold that view do they hold that view. The reason need not be good or well thought out it need only exist. Most aren't rooting for policies they just told to root.

9. For reasons I cannot understand, a lot of people
identify with the wealthy class, even though they have no business doing so. Another aspect is that kids are not taught to think in school, and often they are punished for doing any real thinking. So it becomes a whole lot easier to just go along with what certain others tell them.

Another hugely important aspect, in my opinion, is that religion also explicitly teaches people not to think for themselves. Even the most "liberal" religion still says, This is the Truth, This is the Correct Way to Be a (Christian, Jew, Moslem, whatever) and that becomes a comfort zone for a lot of people.

10. Agree with that.
Identifying with the wealthy is like identifying with the "popular" kids in high school. You BELIEVE that it makes you one of THEM, even though you never will be.

It's also racism. They could never take the same position as a "minority", because "heaven forbid" they be associated with "them".
