(Texas Governor) Perry reluctant to back Walker's plan
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0211/50196.html

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, chairman of the Republican Governors Association, stopped short of endorsing Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s budget plan to end collective bargaining for most public unions Friday morning.

Appearing with his Democratic counterpart Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, on a POLITICO panel at Hotel Dupont to kick off the National Governors Association meeting, Perry refused to wade in too deep into the firestorm that has created a stalemate in Madison and captivated the country

“The key for us, we’ve got 50 laboratories of innovation out there. Frankly, for me to tell Martin how to run his state or for him to tell me how to run my state is a bit over the line,” Perry said, after a noticeable pause, when asked by POLITICO’s Jonathan Martin, the panel moderator, what lessons could be learned from the fight in Wisconsin.

Perry would only that Walker, “knows what he believes in and he’s expressing that and the voters in Wisconsin have said this is the person we want.”

... Texas is a right to work state "so in our state, .. unions are .. pretty well thought of.”

Talking out of his ass as usual. Collective bargaining is specifically prohibited in Texas.
Unions here have NO power.

2. Correct
In TX, collective bargaining by public employees is prohibited.
Unions are very weak in TX, as it is a right to work state.

And, Perry is talking rubbish, as he usually does.
