End of world prediction: No need for plans after Oct. 21

Allison Warden, 29, had her Subaru wrapped to let people know what she calls the day of Christ's return.

End of world prediction: No need for plans after Oct. 21
By Josh Shaffer | Raleigh News & Observer
Posted on Monday, December 20, 2010

RALEIGH, N.C. — From her Subaru, a car painted as white as the fourth horse of Revelation, Allison Warden proclaims that Jesus Christ shall return May 21.

As in 151 days from now.

By her reckoning, the Lord's return will fall on a springtime Saturday. And if the world weren't ending, you might find people celebrating other notable highlights of the day: Mr. T's birthday, Montenegro's independence or the Red Sox-White Sox game.

But to Warden and hundreds of like-minded Christians, Judgment Day can be calculated precisely by tracing biblical genealogy, or by following history forward 7,000 years from the day Noah shut the door to his ark.

So if May 22 rolls around and you're still here, wailing and gnashing your teeth, don't say nobody warned you.

21. What a waste of a perfectly good Subaru!

Mine is a '95 with way over 200,000 miles... and it won't back up anymore which means I need a new, safe car soon and NO prospects of affording one any way any how for the foreseeable future. Especially since where I live (family farm with a long lane that is treacherous in snow or ice) I need something with 4WD or AWD.

BTW, my Subaru's 'wrap' consists of a bunch of pro-voting, pro-voter-verified paper ballots, pro-single-payer bumper stickers.

10. Looser that predicted this date has been WRONG before
Edited on Tue Dec-21-10 11:01 AM by FreakinDJ
In his book, 1994?, Camping stated the end of the world may occur somewhere between September 15-17 (p. 531). He does not know the exact day because Scripture says "no man knows the day nor the hour" (Matt. 24:36). But according to Camping we can certainly know the month and the year that Christ will return. Source: Stephen C. Meyers, 1994? A Summary Critiqueoffsite, Christian Research Journal, Winter 1994.

Camping actually set many dates for the rapture, including:
• September 15, 1994, the Jewish Day of Atonement
• September 25, 1994, the Jewish feast of tabernacles
• October 4, 1994, the anniversary of Jesus' actual birthday as calculated by Camping
• December 25, 1994, based on Camping's explanation of Revelation 11:10offsite (people sending each other gifts)
• February 25, 1995, the Jewish feast of Purim
• May 3, 1996 Camping explained how the "four watches" alluded to in Mark 13:35offsite extended the September 6, 1994 date until then

For a while Camping also taught that September 6, 1994 was the right date after all -- but for the beginning of the Great Tribulation, not Judgment Day. But in line with Camping's theology that would mean the return of the Lord would take place no later than 2008. I have a pair... fingerless gloves with a mitten cover that you can velcro back to work stuff or flip forward to keep your hand warm.

Much better choice than the paint job she's ruining a perfectly good Subaru with.

Really, seriously, people need to make sure their in safe places on May 21.

I think I saw one of them literally rolling a cross down the street last week. It was a giant cross on a wheel, and he kept saying how Christ was coming soon.

38. I guess these people forgot about Matthew 24:36 and Luke 13:35
Harold Camping actually believes there is a code in the Bible that tells him when the world is going to end (and he's used various sorts of "codes" and has been wrong numerous times before).

Yet, in all his searching for a Bible code, he overlooks several passages that explicitly state nobody knows the end of the world's date.

Edited on Wed Dec-22-10 09:16 AM by cherish44
They're doing nothing but lamenting on how horrible this world is and that the only thing they're doing is waiting for Jesus to come down from the sky and take them out of here. They seem very disconnected from everything else... It's actually really sad, some of them seem seriously depressed....

Liquidate all assets and donate the cash to wecanknow.com
Do this before flying into the sky on May 21.
On May 22 the web site owner will vanish, raptured to the lobby of a bank in the Cayman Islands.
Followers then move into cheap motels to recalculate date.
