how does the Wi kerfluffle affect the packers?
they are owned by the public, so do they also lose collective bargaining?
where is the nfl players union in this?

1. The Packers aren't state employees.

It doesn't affect them at all, they're part of 'trade union' as it were (The NFL), not the public employees' union (AFSCME etc).

4. Yeah, I'm sure. I grew up there.

People can buy stock in the Packers Organization, but it is not a 'public utility' nor are the players 'public employees'.

They are a publicly owned, non-profit corporation.

5. The Packers are Union members and have publicly backed
the protesters. Charles Woodson, the team Captain has been the spokesperson.

And FYI, this ain't a kerfluffle, this is the beginnings of a nation-wide labor movement that has been a looooong time coming. Kerfluffle doesn't seem to capture the gravity of the situation, it's a bit "cute" for this. May families will lose their incomes over this if things go bad. People have been told to prepare for the possibility of a general strike in WI. That's not kerfluffle territory.
