Wisconsin Capitol - Check-in here if you were/are on site for the demonstration
Edited on Wed Feb-23-11 11:03 AM by nomb
I was on site Sunday till after midnight. Most Union members present were tucked in corners and the first floor rotunda was mostly students (LOVE the winged girl!) and a few B-team organizers getting some public speaking practice in. Peaceful, well organized and supported - there is absolutely no time pressure felt there at all. It will last as long as it needs to. Seriously, it could easily go years without straining the movement's resources.

Way too much pizza - although I was prevented from helping keep the excess 'Za from going to waste by my friend on some sort of vague technical basis having to do with us being supporters and not demonstrators. Yeah, I thought it was BS too. No doubt the free pizza was as awesome as free pizza always is.

Oh, and Mother Fool's Coffee shop is giving free coffee to demonstrators also. It's a classic old school comfy coffee house like Tryst before they sold out. Just kidding, Tryst is fine. :)

2. Tues - Saturday (not the overnights)
Then came home Saturday night so sick I couldn't even move.

Hey, a little Benedryl at night and Mucinex (hate their ads) by day, and I'm getting ready to head back in later this morning.

I won't be able to shout as loudly as I could last week, but I'll be another body there. I'm planning to be down by Monona Terrace for the rally at the Conference of Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, too.

Taking a big bag of tangerines for those in the rotunda.

3. I was there on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday...
We live 3 1/2 hours from Madison, so we spent a lot of time on the road. It was worth every second. Each day had its own unique feel, but the crowd on Saturday was absolutely breath-taking...
