mods, please let this camp on GD so I don't have to go "Over there".

The Bay sky has cleared.

When is it gonna happen?

I took a nap to catch this.

I still know it's happening, but...

Have fun!

13. Y'know...
my Dearest Peggy.

I have been lurking around here for years.

And I do not see any reason to go into any kind of sordid details.

I have seen so much awful shit pass under the bridge, here.

But you have been such a soulful, sharing voice here that I finally decided to get involved.

If there is Any Place Like This that encompasses a Voice such as Yours, I want to hang around.

10. Any action yet? I got excited but I think it was just a cloud - I keep running
in and out of the house.

For Seattle, here's what KOMO said about viewing times:

The eclipse begins at 9:29 p.m. PST Monday with the peak of the eclipse set for 12:18 a.m. Tuesday morning. It'll be all over at 3:04 a.m.

And more soup in the forecast.

Spouse just generously got all dressed up for the inclement weather but came in with the "Soup report."

Something to do with the "monsoon" season that is upon us.

I'll have to set up a tripod and everything. Is it worth it? I'm debating.

The clouds are actually enhancing the effect though, it's making for nice atmosphere.

37. I'm in Santa Fe. Clear skies here.
I went outside a couple of minutes before it started, and what was most noticeable is how nearly straight overhead the moon was. I don't think I've ever seen it that high in the sky.

It's kind of chilly out, so I keep on coming inside. Plus, a lunar eclipse moves so slowly that it really is a little boring. Anyway, just went back outside. Only a sliver of moon isn't in shadow, and it's a lot darker out. I've been taking photos. Just have a basic little digital camera, so they really aren't all that good. Plus, the auto-focus thing is making it look a lot brighter than it is, and isn't really showing the shadow the way it is in live viewing. Oh, well. I also have binoculars, and I'm using them also.

48. It's almost total here
Edited on Tue Dec-21-10 02:54 AM by SheilaT
The moon is so dim I can barely see it. Last time I recall watching a total lunar eclipse, the moon was far more visible, much more of a bloody red. If I had simply gone outside, unaware that tonight was a full moon, I wouldn't even look up and notice the moon, it is so dim right now. Really weird.

It's a little as if there were a cloud cover you can barely see the moon through, but it is much, much dimmer than that.

On edit:
It'll probably get even dimmer in the next few minutes.
