If Joe Scarborough hates unions so much...
Edited on Mon Feb-21-11 02:24 PM by no limit
Maybe he should tell his staff to drop their union contracts. GE which in part owns MSNBC has 13 different unions that represent it. The staff on morning Joe (from the producers to the writers) are all under a union contract:

Furthermore, Joe himself including all on air talent on MSNBC is part of AFTRA, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

So instead of telling us what a huge burden on society our teachers are maybe Scarborough would take the time to go after his own writers, producers, and everyone else that makes his daily union bashing possible.

Edit: oops, typo in title.

1. He should tell his bosses that he is an overpaid union member
and they should attack him because they need to cut back

12. They don't walk because they're professionals
And they don't break their contract just because they find their obligations inconvenient. Unlike some other people (looking at the Wisconsin statehouse), who are more than eager to break a contract whenever it suits them.

5. I have a better, more productive idea for all of us...
..that is, to stop caring so much what Joe Scarborough says or does.

Even if his entire viewership to the number did every thing he said or was influenced by what he says, it accounts for a frighteningly, pathetically low .25% of the American population.

So why do so many people not only care but insist on discussing what this guy does or says?

7. It's not just Joe, most of the media is fixed on busting up unions
So hypocrisy should be pointed out whether it's Doucheborough or anyone else.

9. Agreed, but why the Scarborough obsession...
Why does it seem like everyone is obsessed with that guy and his lame show that nobody watches?

10. I think it has to do with the fact people here are far more likely to watch him than fox
We can post this stuff about fox but nobody would really care since nobody really watches fox. But quite a few people watch MSNBC in the morning. Even for me I don't think there is anything better to watch, so in the morning before work I'm watching one of 2 things, the local news or MSNBC.

13. I am a culprit. I tune into MJ daily to see the guests. I have learned
to just mute Joe when he starts on one of his rants. Or when a RW guest comes on, I just mute it or I switch to GMA, but GMA has a tendency to grate on my nerves just from it mindless stupidity.

The guests on MJ are often terrific. Howard Dean is often on, Katrina VandenHeuval is a regular contributor, Chris Hayes from the Nation is also on a lot and of course Dems in Congress. And Eugene Robinson also adds some sanity to the show...his utter decency is so refreshing that I love to hear the sound of his voice...

8. with all the M$M anti-union torrent of propaganda, it would be nice
if one time on one of these air-head shows all the camerapeople etc. would just do a walk-out right in the middle of it.

11. I've always wondered what the camera guys are thinking when they watch unions gets trashed
I guess they are too professional to say or do anything (they do have great paying jobs). It has always struck me as odd that.
