with Gov. Mosni. . .and ya know I'm not holding my breath with any illusion that any of them would be selected:
Governor:
Please tell the public what sacrifices for our communities companies you are trying to lure to this state are willing to make? And, if the state is in such a financial mess, why would a patriotic company wish to relocate to Wisconsin and take more advantage of the taxpayers through tax credits and local forgiveness incentives? Aren't you really trying to encourage poor citizenship on the part of companies who, apparently, have the excess funds to purchase candidates and elections but are unable to contribute to the community through good wages/benefits and paying taxes?

Governor:
Why not extend the provisions of this bill to include a public referendum any time the state legislature wishes to offer tax breaks or tax exemptions to large corporations or the wealthy? Shouldn't the taxpayers have a say in which subsidies and sacrifices our communities must make each time the government decides to allow companies to forego the responsibilities of citizenship the Supreme Court so generously lavished on them?

Your Administration keeps portraying this battle as between the taxpayers and the public employees who we all know pay taxes as well. Why don't you, instead of taking the money and collective bargaining out of the pockets of these public employees, offer them the same deal your legislature is offering companies that relocate into Wisconsin? How about no taxes for two years? Since public employees spend their money at businesses which help keep other people employed, wouldn't this be an acceptable compromise to offset the extra costs they are incurring? Why not just turn those extra costs into tax breaks for the public employees until the state can honor their contracts after an economic recovery? Obviously you have no intention of requiring business/citizens to pay taxes to do their share to support communities, so wouldn't it make perfect sense to just pass those breaks along to the public employees who you are ordering to give up compensation for their services?
