You know, gas prices are going thru the roof - I just paid 3.35 for lowest octane gas on Saturday here in Philly, BUT I went to the Acme Market (not Wile E. Coyote's "Acme") and paid for soda ("can of chemicals" as one of my hygienists puts it): No lie:

2.99 for a 20 pack of Coke (cans)
2.99 for a 20 pack of Sprite (cans)
1.00 for a 1 liter bottle of Pepsi (for one staff member - me)
1.00 for a 1 liter bottle of Sunkist soda (LOVE that 'glycerated ester of wood rosin')
2.00 for 1/2 gallon Tropicana OJ (Real thing)

Hell, the gasoline to transport this stuff across whatever state lines is more than its cost to me for crying out loud. I've heard of loss-leaders of course, but this is unbelievable if you ask me. Which you didn't, but anyway...I guess if they start shipping it thru the Straits of Hormuz, the price will go up.
