Edited on Fri Feb-18-11 03:12 PM by spanone
now it's the singular issue that will destroy america.

this only happens with a compliant media that is willing to push the lie.

Paul O'Neill, fired in a shakeup of Bush's economic team in December 2002, raised objections to a new round of tax cuts and said the president balked at his more aggressive plan to combat corporate crime after a string of accounting scandals because of opposition from "the corporate crowd," a key constituency.

O'Neill said he tried to warn Vice President Dick Cheney that growing budget deficits-expected to top $500 billion this fiscal year alone-posed a threat to the economy. Cheney cut him off. "You know, Paul, Reagan proved deficits don't matter," he said, according to excerpts. Cheney continued: "We won the midterms (congressional elections). This is our due." A month later, Cheney told the Treasury secretary he was fired.

The vice president's office had no immediate comment, but John Snow, who replaced O'Neill, insisted that deficits "do matter" to the administration.

5. Bush had the deficit sliced and diced...
There were several running budgets, one being the massive war debt. Obama put them all back on one page in an effort to stop the game playing... so it really does look like Obama's issue to those who didn't pay attention.

7. Dems talked about it
but then Dems don't get air time. Most thought the Bush tax cut would lead to deficits, most thought the wars need to be paid for, most saw that the Republicans would eventually blame their deficit on programs designed to help Americans rather than on the Republicans own spending, tax cutting and deregulation clean up. It was mentioned during the Bush years, it's just the people speaking it don't get a national voice on TV and print at near the volume level as the other side.

14. It was so dang obvious at the time...
... that as soon as the Obama-McConnell tax deal was accomplished, the Republicans would use it to claim that we have to cut spending.

That deal dumped $900 billion onto the federal debt. And now we're paying for it by cutting LIHEAP by $2.5 billion.

16. And let's ask every ranting Republican .....what did YOU do....
....to curtail the Bush administration from running up this deficit? Specifically, what did YOU do to stop their careless (and in some cases, "off the books") spending?

Obviously nothing. If you had done something.....we woudn't be in this mess!

18. Racism is alive and well in America
I wish i could think of something more clever, but what else can explain this "New Awareness" on not just the deficit, but every problem we have had in this country since the Supreme Court installed Jr. in the White House.

Did we have an immigration problem before Obama was sworn in?

Did we have a massive trade imbalance?

Did we have a massive loss of our freedom??

I could go on and on but you get the point.

I honestly have to wonder if this shit would be going on if Hillary was POTUS?
