The House formally began debate, which is expected to last three days, Tuesday afternoon following some wrangling over the hundreds of amendments lawmakers want to attach to the package. More than 400 amendments were filed Monday night. Among them were a proposal from Rep. Steve Womack, R-Ark., to eliminate funding for the president's Teleprompter and one from Rep. Randy Neugebauer, R-Texas, to strip funding for the alteration, repair or improvement of the executive residence of the White House and instead divert that amount to deficit reduction.

Womack told Fox News Tuesday afternoon that he pulled his amendment because he wasn't able to get an estimate on how much it would save.

"I think we made our point," Womack said. "We're asking people to do more with less. And I think the president ought to lead by example. He is already a very gifted speaker. And I think that's one platform he could do without.

Anything they can possibly do to be a douche-bag, they certainly don't miss the opportunity, do they?

Some people like our esteemed congresscritter have trouble with those of us who don't fit in one of the 'athlete/entertainer/blue collar/street criminal' slots...

To say nothing of the fact that Bush always had a teleprompter and still couldn't make coherent sentences..

8. The "Rushisms" always pop out of these R lawmakers
I believe that Limbaugh must pull all these guys strings through his radio show. I think it is he who has always made such a big deal of the teleprompter (strange considering Bush had trouble pronouncing the words on his). It's like what is broadcast on Limbaugh's propaganda spew is picked up by the radars on the Republican Congress-bots heads.

he would go to Washington and fight Obama as his main campaign promise.

11. Yes, Steve Womack is the guy (teabagger??) who took over John Boozman's seat when he
booted out Blanche Lincoln. Some of us tried to tell you the 'replacement' for Sen. Lincoln would be far, far worse.

"I think we made our point," Womack said. Yeah Steve, but careful styling of your hair covers it up rather well.
