Stand up Democrats! The wealthy need to pay more taxes.
Edited on Fri Feb-18-11 07:21 AM by kentuck
The primary reason there is a deficit in Wisconsin is because the Republicans are wedded to taxcuts as the solution to everything that ails us. It is time they pay their fair share and stop putting the burden on teachers, old people, and the sick.

Enough! Enough!

It is taxcuts at the national level, that the President agreed to extend until 2012, that are the primary reason (with unpaid wars) that we have such a huge deficit in our Federal government. Stand up Democrats and tell the truth.

There is no free lunch and it is time for those that have robbed us for the last 30 years to pay a more fair share of taxes if they want to do business in this country. The people have suffered enough. Taxcuts do not create jobs. Demand create jobs. Let's put a stop to this nonsense.

1. Fuckin "A"right! Same thing in Florida.
Jeb Bush cut taxes to the bone. We had a thing called the intangibles tax, that he repealed. It was a wealth tax on stocks, bonds and investments of over $500,000. And it was minimal.

We've been in hole ever since.

2. Too late. Reagan won....
If you can name more than a handful (at most) of elected, national democrats who are willing to call bullshit and just say "Trickle down, supply side economics does not work. Raising taxes on the wealthy works and has worked in the past." then I'll give you credit for being able to track them down. Because everyone (our democratic president included) has internalized every republican economic belief and has surrounded himself with other people who believe this.

We're done. It's done. We lost. If you have hope that it can be turned around then you're a more optimistic person than I am.
