Public Employees give up getting paid as much as their private sector counterparts...
what they received was a good pension and good benefits.

Now because some bad mistakes were made by MANAGEMENT, the governors, these states are trying to blame the workers.

It was the governors and the legislators who made the agreements with the public employees.

Just because a new regime comes in after an election, doesn't null and void agreements that were signed and put in place by the prior regime.

5. Apparently you want people who lost their retirement benefits to pay retired public employees when
the responsible government is bankrupt.

4. So the best thing we can do is join together in solidarity...let's not get
splintered off, public and private workers. We are all workers. Our work has value. We need to unite not divide ourselves. That's what the repukes want us to do, divide among ourselves. It's called "the politics of resentment."

7. OK "We are all workers" but some produce products & services for profit and others are paid from the
sweat and toil of those in the private sector.

26. That talking point is being spread by the right
it is toxic.

These people do not realize that it is public employees who sit on their asses while the roads get fixed... :sarcasm:

What is funny is that they have transformed a true leninist talking point... the rentier class are parasites (that be investors in modern lingo) into public employees, Methinks some of our private sector workers do not realize it is time to FIGHT and not attack fellow workers.

This is a contract situation not only between the workers and the government but between the people who pay taxes and expect their states to provide a service...

11. Not apples and oranges, its bull shit. In some cases public employee unions have got in bed
with the candidates they elected.

It's no secret in one state a high school graduate can become a public employee at 20 and receive around $150k for life at age 50 upon retirement with full medical and dental coverage.

In the meantime workers in the private sector earn meager wages and few benefits and are mad as hell at public employees.

Is that standard or an aberration?

I can link you to a story about a 75 year old grandmother who fought off a bank heist with her purse... is that a standard practice or an aberration?

Just a friendly suggestion-- read about inductive and deductive reasoning. Pulling a red marble out of a barrel of marbles does not mean all the marbles are red.

35. He confuses data with causation. And even his data is incomplete.
Anyone can cherry-pick info to support his opinion. It's about a preponderence of evidence. And further, the methodology by which data is gathered matters a great deal, too. Unless, of course, you just have great big nasty axe to grind against organized labor.

So then they take it out on the public employees.

Those governors are nothing more than a bunch of bastards, brass-plated bastards.

Recommended, because your writing deserves it.
