2. This is so tragic... While it can't rise to the level of
child or animal abuse, it is ECOCIDE and is going to result in an irreplaceable loss to the environment. He should get the full 10 years and this needs to be elevated in terms of the felony via new legislation-- to prevent any copycats in the future.

I may not be an Auburn fan, but I am as outraged about this act as though I were.

7. I doubt there is need for new legislation. The guy poisioned the earth there to
such a degree, that all the soil will need to be remediated before any replanting can occur. The University should be able to peg him for the costs in addition to whatever fines/criminal penalties he receives.

9. It is a fairly low level felony. I believe it should be upgraded.
Edited on Thu Feb-17-11 03:13 PM by hlthe2b
He could get out with virtually no jail time for something so irreplaceable.

Do you realize these were 130 year old oaks? No amount of remediation is going to "fix that." Honestly, with all due respect, this was not a mere prank--needing only a bit of new top soil to fix.

11. The scumbag will get jail time when the judge hears all the testimony on the
impact of the community. The remediation will consist of more than top soil replacement.

Would it make you feel better if he did it over something else?

This guy is an asshole. He needs to have his legs cut off or something..

He got pissed Over a STUPID college football loss. What, you think I fucking condone his actions if it were say, a horse stepping on his nuts while he was peeping at cheerleaders from behind the tree?

Jesus Christ on a stick.

Now the invaders think they can moderate how we feel, oh boo fucking hoo.

17. Oh, I get it...
instead of just condemning this guy's actions on their own, you saw the opportunity and felt it necessary to take a shot at sports....specifically college football.

Jesus Christ on a stick is right...

The intent nannies have arrived. And they want you to be nice, even to tree-killing felons.
