Pro-Mubarak Barbarians, Not Egyptian Muslims, Attacked Lara Logan

By John R. Guardiano on 2.16.11 @ 11:05PM

........................

It’s important to note, as Aaron does, that the angry and sadistic mob which perpetrated this crime was in no way reflective of the thousands of Egyptian protesters who descended upon Tahrir or Liberation Square.

..................

But in fact, we can say with near certainty that the thugs who violently abused and violated Logan were anti-protesters sent into the streets by Mubarak precisely in order to disrupt and discredit the Egyptian uprising.

How do we know this? Simple: by following the sequence of events and listening to independent and fair-minded journalists who were on the scene at the time, and who thus can speak authoritatively about what happened.

Here is the sequence of events:

1. These thugs need to be found and prosecuted.
I hope they have footage that can be used.

2. Idle speculation. We can't say with ANY level of certainty who the attackers were.
The reports indicated a crowd of 200+ people. So 200+ pro-Mubarak supporters were in the middle of a giant crowd of anti-govt protesters who were celebrating for hours. They sat there not revealing their true identity, and waiting until the crowd seperated her from her crew so they could rape her.

Yes we know that with "near certainty".

3. Yep, so that dumb post that wanted Mubarak back
because of what happened to LL, did not understand that it would be putting the perpetrators back in power.

4. The link behind the OP headline provides no information whatsoever.
There are no comments by anyone who was there. Maybe we should wait for LL to comment before blame is assigned by people who are 5,000 miles away.
