Iowa Independent - Most Republican 2012 Hopefuls Support Keeping DADT In Place
I know the 2012 Presidetial elections are a long way off, but here is the position of some of the more prominent Republicans on the repeal of DADT:

Despite national support for a repeal, it’s not clear Johnson’s position will be received well by caucus-goers in Iowa. Polling data from earlier this year shows more than three-fourths of Hawkeye State Republicans want the chance to vote on gay marriage. And in November, Iowans voted out three Iowa Supreme Court justices who ruled in favor of gay marriage.

Other possible Republican presidential candidates with eyes on Iowa — including Tim Pawlenty, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and Mike Huckabee — have said they support keeping “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” in place. Fred Karger, a likely Republican candidate who happens to be gay, sides with Johnson in calling for repeal.

1. This is a non-starter. They will not as this will be seen as an attack on the military itself.
So they are blowing smoke, and it will just go away as an issue.

I don't see more than TWO who may lose...MA & ME

Isn't it HIGH TIME that Maine sent a dem to the senate?

But I can see US losing at least 9

3. Some repubs will try to make a flashpoint out of the repeal as they did with health care reform.
This is much more a clear-cut issue, however, and I think the repub party as a whole will tread lightly.
