What annoys people is not what someone says, it is usually their own contradictions they see when something is said.
Most annoying is internal. Although that brings up a great quandary, as phrased by doctor who talking about the cybermen, do we have the right to show them, to let them feel?
That is why that one song says 'you can't fight the tears that aren't coming.'
One way to avoid internal conflict and pain, (the truth hurts effect) is to close your mind to feeling and thought. And if you do not hurt people in your existence, that is ok. It is ok for some people to just live the life of trying to do better as they know it in their heart, even if not perfect.
But if you have some social responsibility or effect, then the internal pain of knowing things, is better then the effect on many not knowing those things might cause.
The more given, the more expected.
So in that, the learning that occurs when you have social responsibility is the sacrifice everyone that learns pays. Empathy can have great joy, but also some sorrow since that can help you find who needs help and support.
And pass the bacon is usually used by people that are talking about an old social rule, not a spiritual rule, that was in the Old Testament about pigs being unclean, and not eating pork. It is a targeted marketing attempt against groups that still think on those rules, to invoke the macro of those teachings in them.
By saying someone says 'pass the bacon' you get everyone that thinks of pigs unclean, to react with a visceral response. It is used as a smear without any meaning, only spending the thoughts in some person or group.
Still don't believe some are trying to put some to sleep?
