Is it possible to love your country and hate your government?
Hasn't the government created things like Mt Rushmore, the Hoover Dam, and the Interstate Highway System? Isn't there something about government we can love?

Does populism serve a purpose anymore? What good does it do to spark the passions of folks? Isn't it better to simply discuss matters in a calm and rational manner? Can't you get more done that way?

What is wrong with telling the truth about the Republicans? Is it too embarrassing to even speak?
Are they good for our country and bad for our government? What good things have they done for our people and our country? What bad things have they done? I'm sure one list will be much longer than the other.

1. Yes and actually it shows you love your country MORE
than those that merely sit by and offer up blind partisan support for their party--even when it does things that are antithetical to their core beliefs.

2. Sure you can. Why hate your government? Just do your best to change it

This country has so much potential for living up to a very high standard of Democracy that it's easy to be angry at a government that thinks 'for the people' only means 'for the rich people'.

When I see mt. Rushmore I see pure national ego at it's worst. Jesus! Why destroy beautiful mountains to carve out your heroes? Just because you can?

4. Loving or hating a govt is a useless waste of time.
It's the corruption that runs deep. The corruption and thievery and secrecy renders this govt dangerous to humanity everywhere.

Who knows who runs this country anymore.

7. No it isn't possible
without the government the country is just real estate

The people who think you can do that are cherry picking. They want to ignore the good things and pick out the bad, then present only the bad things as the whole so they can say they hate it.

It is, at the very least, dishonest and may even be delusional.

8. Wrong word being used
The government is the people, we the people own the government.
It has gotten to the point in this country that elected officials
feel they are the government and herein is the problem.

Elected officials think that they are the owners and not the people.
It is time to let them know who the employers are.
Elected officials are the EMPLOYEES, nothing more.
