What A Pathetic Set of Choices
from the Working Life blog:

What A Pathetic Set of Choices

by Jonathan Tasini
Friday 11 of February, 2011

It is really sad that our country has gotten to this set of choices:

Senate Democratic leaders again rejected calls by House Republicans to wield a "meat ax" in proposing cuts to the federal budget, saying they supported President Barack Obama's strategy of freezing current spending for five years.(emphasis added)

One side, the lunatic Republican Party, wants to slash and burn any memory of a social safety netwrok. The other side, Democrats, thinks the better choice is to freeze spending--at a time of despair around the nation, when people need the government to act decisively to replace faltering demand and a job market that is just atrocious.

Moral bankruptcy is now clearly defined.

2. It is called compromise
this us how the grownups actually get things done.
See: we stake out our position, zero minus inflation, they stake out their position, meat axe, and then we compromise by reaching the middle ground, a meat axe. Grow up.
