There is a difference between "spreading democracy" and Defending Freedom.

How does a person like Beck summon the courage to leave the house in the morning, when (apparently) the whole world is out to rape his mother, make him watch, kill him and then nick all of his shit so it can be pawned off to pay for the next hit of the Evil Weed?

The thing that INFURIATES me most with all this is that these are the VERY SAME people who LOVES them some "democracy" when it's done at the point of an M1-Abrams Main Battle Tank, but an organic, natural movement toward legitimate self-governance scares the Living Lord right out of them. WHY? Because the new government in Egypt might believe itself to be actually self-empowered, and seek to maintain its OWN interest in the region (and within its own Sovereign borders) and we can't have that, now can we?

Glenn, the only way that any of this will be a problem for the United States (or Israel), is if the new government in Egypt decides that the Democratic Model it should follow is the model practiced by the United States circa 2000-2008. You know, the one that SPREADS democracy rather than DEFENDS it. You paranoid idiot FUCK.

Like the Unites States can't handle an organic, natural upwelling of self-governance in the Middle East. What a bunch of Faith-less jackasses they all are. (Of Course, given their concept of a properly sized and neutered government, maybe they have a reason to be terrified...)
Fuckers.
Peace to all, and to all in Egypt, REAL AMERICA stands with you. Be not afraid, neither of us, or of yourselves.

1. Simple - when we "spread" democracy, it's usually a government of our choosing
See Iraq, Afghanistan...

2. "Democracy" to them is a code word for corporate rule
And defending Free Dumb - well, that's what Freepers do. You can't let people actually rule until they are stupid enough to follow the right leaders.

3. K&R
The chickens have come home to roost on this Fox News right wing kookiness. If what Beck says is true his listeners should take up arms, attack and kill all normal Americans. Surely we are part of this caliphate conspiracy. I mean, I don't want to miss out.

5. I think Salieri is closer, although might not be about him.
It is how so many stories and music feels, although not all perfect, there is some great stuff out there.

Salieri describing the music of Mozart

I don't have any hard feelings about such things, and really like to listen to music and stories. I think Salieri was bitter.
