Now if it had been a woman representative I could understand someone trying to make hay over that. But since when is a picture of a guy not wearing a shirt posted on the intertubes a big thing?

I must be missing something here?

here come the word police again.......Merry Christmas

And for those of us that live here, we mind our own politics, not the politics of others, and neither do we try to alienate those who do live here.

37. correct
He had told a woman that he was not married. This hypocrisy coming from a rightwing family values type was too much even for the GOP. On the other hand, it is unusual to see a republican going in for adult heterosexual activity.

15. I suspect the GOP has established a 'quick resignation' rule for sex scandals.
At least for the less important members. They were really ground down by sex scandals in recent years, with members just refusing to resign. Those politicians sometimes weathered the storm, but it cost their party.

26. If my duly elected representative resigned over something this pedestrian, I'd be kinda ticked.
I mean ... he was hired by the people to do a job. I've got no dog in this fight, and I do think there's probably more fire around this smoke... but I find it very odd that he quit so abruptly.

Especially when "The Family" protects and props up these other straying d-bags (like Ensign).

Other shoe, meet floor?

He's most likely lying to his wife. He's definitely lying to the women he's trying to hook up with. Why the hell should I trust a single word that comes out of his mouth if I'm a constituent?

54. I don't think his wife and child think it's "pedestrian."
I'm no prude, but just because men the world over think it's OK doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt the wife and children. I consider adultery in a non-open marriage akin to abuse. In fact, I think it hurts the cockold* spouse as bad, if not worse, than the physically abused spouse. It's just a slower death. :(

*Yes, I know cockold refers to men, but I mean it in the vernacular - the cheated-upon spouse.
