What WILL we tell the children?
Sometimes it seems like the very moral fabric of this nation is wasting away. A public official dishonoring his marital vows. Disgusting! This kind of stuff didn't happen in the America that I knew as a boy. What kind of example does this set for our children? What is happening in this nation that we still call God's Country?

What WILL I tell my daughter? How WILL I explain this to her?*

*OK, I don't really have a daughter, or any kids at all in fact, but it sounds better to say it that way anyway.

NY-26 Rep. Chris Lee Busted By Gawker For Scamming On Craigslist Women? UPDATED

BY Celeste Katz

Yeah, that doesn't sound good at all.

Gawker is running with a report that married NY-26 Rep. Chris Lee (or someone using his email and sending around pictures of a guy who looks just like him) is apparently checking out the dating scene on Craigslist.

The report is gaining steam on Twitter right now, and I'm trying to find out more for you, although I am told a Lee spokesperson is unavailable. (Update: More from our Shahid and Sisk here.)

Excerpts from the Gawker piece:

"On the morning of Friday, January 14, a single 34-year-old woman put an ad in the "Women for Men" section of Craigslist personals. "Will someone prove to me not all CL men look like toads?" she asked, inviting "financially & emotionally secure" men to reply.

1. I blame the inventors
once infidelity was invented in 1983, people were bound to put it to use.

2. We tell the kids what we've always told them: IOKIYAR
Whatever you hear Republicans whining and crying about, reclining on their fainting couches and clutching their pearls, you can bet your bottom dollar that Republicans are engaging in that very same behavior, in ratios at least as great as the general population. But, because it's a Republican caught with his hand in the cookie jar, it's all right. Because it's a Republican.
