Testimony against same-gender marriage from "family" advocates convince lawmaker to vote FOR teh gay
Edited on Wed Feb-09-11 02:10 PM by Bluebear
Maryland – The Senate Judicial Proceedings committee heard 7 hours of testimony last night on whether or not to legalize gay marriage, including from NOM’s Maggie Gallagher. Now one Senator, who was previously a foe, has said her testimony convinced him to support marriage equality.

Senator James Brochin (D) was one of the few Democrat Senators who was opposed to gay marriage. But after listening to testimony from Maggie Gallagher of the National Organization For Marriage (NOM), he’s said that her “demonization” of gay families has convinced him that he should side with marriage equality.

Well done Maggie!

Baltimore Sun:

Baltimore County Sen. James Brochin found the testimony Tuesday by opponents of gay marriage “troubling,” and said this morning that he may support the bill. The Baltimore County Democrat had previously said he was against same-sex marriage.

“The demonization of gay families really bothered me,” Brochin said. “Are these families going to continue to be treated by the law as second class citizens?”

2. I'd hate to meet her in a dark alley.
I've seen it myself, when there are concerted attacks, it often backfires on the attackers. Not all the time, which would be really good, but often enough to give some hope.

At least it shows there is still a bit of empathy and compassion left.... again, not enough, but at least some still exists.

Thanks for posting! I guess we poor folk need to get the hate ramped up to full-blown and in our faces. :(

3. Yeah, Maggie.
How you feeling 'bout all this? You got to spew your ugly hatred and look what it got you. Called out for being such an evil failure - and you changed the mind of other supposed allies. LOL. This is too funny.
