Went to American Legion meeting tonight

don't ask why, need to since they support a program I run. Any how, they commented on baccaman sp, taking vet cuts off the table, they support the rest just not that portion. Can you say hypocrites. If it wasn't for supporting my kids (they help me take the kids on trips) I'd be out. Every month is pain. I know, I could not do it, but the ones that suffer would not be me but kids. Just needed to do a little venting and say how self centered people are.

It isn't their job to take a position on things which don't relate to veteran's affairs. Everyone in this country wants reduced spending but nobody wants to feel the reductions. How is this different than any other advocacy group?

16. The point was clear

he goes to these guys asking for money for his pet cause. Finds out he doesn't like their politics or whatever. Bites his tongue while reaching in their billfolds. Goes away and talks shit behind their back. Shows no gratefulness for the support the apparently gave his group. It is really pretty simple.

line for. Many served just for the benefits. Cut back and bring the soldiers home. This group to me is the one group we need to take care of. They are the ones who make the true scarfice and put their life on the line. Once they sign they can't quit.

the greatest generation doesn't give to shits about the rest of us. Not the first time this has happened. Like I said just needed to vent after the meeting. Just drove me insane at the time, I have mine so screw you atitude And no it does not surprise me, have been doing this for 7 years but it is getting worse as you all know. Thanks for the understanding "eridani". I know some here just hate vet organizations but some of us have to bite our tongues to help the kids that we all say we need help (or is that just talk).

you are at an Am. Legion asking for their support for what ever cause you are pimping. Apparently they are helping your cause. You hate them but you are biting your tongue to get in their wallets. And you call them hypocrites. Is this about right?

let the star go since I was a little short. One thing I learned in life is to try and be cordial even on a msg board. My parents taught me that 53 years ago. What ever happened to civility? Never got into the name calling and such, maybe I'm out of touch with how to treat people now a days.

how about just disappointed. And pimp is not what I push, I take them to see the country, or would you rather not let them see what else is out there. Their nice guys, it is just disappointing that the same kids they are helping are the same kids that they want the education benifits cut, head start, etc. Like I said, just venting. Guess that isn't allowed anymore with out getting slamed. Glad to see a few of you understand what I was venting about. Thanks.

just realize that while calling those guys hypocrites, you're taking their money and goodwill for a cause you feel is important, then acting as though you despise them, is in itself, hypocritical and ungrateful...imo.
