Is it just me, or is Alan Dershowitz wrong on just about everything?

I just saw a brief clip of him on CNN, and he was trying to say Egypt shouldn't be allowed to have a democracy yet because the Germans elected Hitler.

A few weeks ago he was defending Palin's use of "blood libel" too.

18. Alan Dershowitz is an otherwise intelligent man who left the path of scholarship to pursue...

...a course in life which might best be described as shadowboxing in a room filled with funhouse mirrors. At some point his healthy defense of Jews and Judaism slid into an all-encompassing defense of corrupt, conservative Israeli governments under what appears to be the grossly-misguided belief that Israel = Jews. At a certain point his aggressive eccentricities became intolerable to all but those similarly-afflicted. It is not an uncommon affliction among those who subscribe to reactionary politics but few have had the intellect to trash otherwise-promising careers so famously as Dershowitz has.

In his overzealous quest to protect a thing he has ultimately eroded it to the point of being a liability.
