Oye. They can have him. :eyes:

Nugent Calls For "Total Destruction" Of Social Security

February 07, 2011 7:39 am ET by Media Matters staff

In a February 4 Washington Times column, Ted Nugent called for the "total destruction" of Social Security, calling it a "Ponzi scheme" and falsely claiming that it is "broke." In fact, as Media Matters has noted, without any changes, Social Security will be fully funded through 2037.

60. Please stop advocating violence
Ted Nugent is a bad actor, but it's not nice to call for his destruction. Ted Nugent doesn't need to be destroyed.

Think about this violent act you are calling for. What would you do, kick him in the head? Hang him? Cut him into little pieces? Dig a hole, put him in it, and bury him alive? Don't you see these thoughts are sick?

4. This is what happens when you crap your pants and wear them for 2 weeks before you go to
see the draft board, after all sitting in that much crap for 2 weeks has to effect the mind and Teddy boy wasn't wrapped to tight before the draft board visit, remember he was known as the Detroit Madman. Or maybe it was all those years he spent pouring deer in heat urine on himself, either way Teddy boy is a grade A nut.

12. That was THE WORST concert I have ever been to
Portland, Oregon, Memorial Coliseum, sometime in 1981 or early 1982... Sammy Hagar was the opening act (pre-Van Halen) and was marginally better, but Nugent put on absolutely the worst concert I have ever seen of any type in my life... my roommate gave me a free ticket to it, and I still felt like I had been ripped off.

19. I went to three Nugent Concerts
Edited on Mon Feb-07-11 09:35 AM by DontTreadOnMe
I really liked his first two albums "Free For All" and "Stranglehold". Good guitar work... then he wandered into his Gonzo Cat Scratch Fever period, where every song was about pussy.
You can only write so many alpha male crap shit before it becomes a farce.

The third time was in 1980 at the New Haven Coliseum. There was a riot outside and and the fans were throwing bottles from the rooftop parking garage down onto the cops. A city bus was overturned!

This was the type crowd that Nugent wanted. All frenzy, no class. During the show, he had a rope that he would swing back and forth about the stage in a loin cloth, like Tarzan. A loin cloth! It just seemed a little weird to me at the time.
Jimmy Page wore a cool Dragon suit, not a loin cloth!

It was at this concert that I realized that Ted was a child with a millionaire budget. I was only 16 years old and still in high school. But I had already outgrown my Nugent phase.

Ted has a target audience that has a 15 year old mindset.
And when you watch Uncle Ted now... he is still 15 himself.

I was going to attach a photo of Uncle Ted in his loin cloth... by I will spare your eyes.

26. Well, at least he's being honest. Most Repubs say "Privatize" so people can choose what to do
w/ "their money."

But,after that, they can put it in a CD or the market, but they still couldn't touch it.

Then they'd say, "it's your money. You should be able to take it out."

So, people would take out the money early -- and be left with nothing at retirement.

It's like they want MORE seniors working at Wal mart until they die.

39. Am I the only one
who noticed that this thread has an awful lot of attacks but not one instance of someone supplying logic as to why this idiot's points are invalid? This is exactly what I keep trying to point out to you guys. If you don't take these people seriously then you are relegating our cause to back burner because just as people are listening to Bono and Oprah they are also going to listen to Nugent and other celebs because while they may not have any additional insight that a normal person wouldn't have, they do have the ear of the people. Right, wrong, or indifferent these people's voices will be heard. To make matters worse, when you just spend your time attacking these people instead of attacking their logic or in this case lack there of then all you are doing is feeding into the negative hype that the RW media uses to show us in a negative light. For example, saying that media outlets shouldn't be willing to give these people a voice; how would you respond if they did that to us. Oh wait, some of them do and you guys go ape over it. Your not helping the cause unless you are under the impression we can do it alone. We have to convince others to join and those who are not already in the choir are turned off by your methods.

We have to do it better and cleaner than the other guy.

67. Discussion with conservatives has to have a measure of maturity
Civil discourse with conservatives requires a modicum of intelligence and seriousness of purpose.
A debate between David Brooks and Bernie Sanders would be interesting to listen to.
A debate between Senator Franken and Senator Snow would be worthwhile.

But Ted Nugent?
He's a cartoon.
He calls for the destruction of Social Security.
That's not a serious suggestion. What politician (Rep or Dem) would propose this on the floor of the House or Senate?
It's political suicide.

He then blathers on about young people saving money now, so they "can amass a fortune".
Doing what exactly?

Nugent is an unintentional comedian and deserves nothing but derision.
Taking this coot seriously would like arguing politics with Homer Simpson.

Fox "News" resurrected this ass-clown because he's Hannity with long hair. Go to his website sometime and check out his tour dates- It's nothing but casinos and theme parks and county fairs with the occasional teabag rally thrown in for variety. This bozo can't even land a steady gig in Branson! Forget him. He and the 30 people who still listen to his records are not worth even a first thought- never mind a second.

gin up attention for the booking season. Ted's always spouting off this time of year, trying to make noise, going on TV, pulling strings, 'cause lord knows he can not do any of those things with his guitar and he has bills to pay. Ted keeps a break neck summer tour pace that no one would do if it was not a frenzied drive to survive.
