Joe Klein: 'prominent Republicans' ask Murdoch & Ailes to get rid of Glenn Beck
Today, (hat tip/Ben Smith), we have Bill Kristol sticking with the demonstrators and calling out free-range lunatic Glenn Beck, for his hilarious commie-muslim caliphate delusions. This is not unimportant. Kristol lies very close to the throbbing heart of the Fox News sensibility. And I've heard, from more than a couple of conservative sources, that prominent Republicans have approached Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes about the potential embarrassment that the paranoid-messianic rodeo clown may bring upon their brand. The speculation is that Beck is on thin ice. His ratings are dropping, too--which, in the end, is a good part of what this is all about. But I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a mirror-Olbermann situation soon.

1. I would hardly characterize Blecch's departure as a 'mirror-Olbermann situation'
I believe it's likely that KO wanted to leave MSNBC, but Blecch will have to be dragged kicking & screaming from FAUX studios. Boo frickin' hoo!

2. And will crumple into a blithering idiot when he'd kicked out.
They would have to do a good job of it, though, as he knows the ins and outs of the lies spewed over the FOX RW News Machine and he won't have any loyalty, at that point.

4. Gee, wouldn't THAT be a shame!

Spill the beans on Sir Ruprecht Morlock's propaganda organ? Not only would that send a resounding chorus of hurrahs throughout the liberal blogosphere, it would virtually ensure that nobody this side of WorldNutDaily would ever consider hiring that loon.

3. Bill Kristol is calling out Beck -- you know what that means...
it means that Kristol is in danger of being right about something for once.

7. I'm sorry...
that is an impossibility, like calculating the x-intercept of an asymptotic function or dividing by zero is in mathematics.

Bill Kristol can't be right. It's a basic law of the building blocks of the universe.

5. Beck, along with Palin, Paul, DeMint and the other teabaggers are the "prominent republicans" in the
republican party. No way Fox will get rid of their main spokesman. Joe Klein is full of crap.

6. Chances are better they'd cut off their dicks.
Beck is their golden boy.

8. "was" not "is"
his ratings are in the tank, his advertisers are fleeing not only from his programing but from that around his programming and he's taken to goring the sacred cows.

He's gallivanting towards his fate like Don Quixote, foolishly and with great fervor.

10. He's still on. When he's gone, I'll believe it.
Until then, he's their boy

11. Ding, ding, ding!
We have a winner! Beck is going to have to literally start foaming at the mouth on air before Murdoch & Ailes drop him.

12. Beck isn't going anywhere.
He's too beloved by the teabaggers. Fox loses the teabaggers, they lose most of their audience.

Murdoch would sooner give a poor person money than fire Beck.
