British PM disses multiculturalism, and Top Gear hosts diss Mexicans
First, UK Prime Minister David Cameron criticized multicultural-friendly UK policy in a speech at Germany today. Then the British comedian Steve Coogan criticizes the hosts of British car show Top Gear for being racist against Mexicans. And Cameron's been accused of enabling the English Defence League, a racist group. Gee, what's with all this racism and intolerance springing up in the UK?

The offensive joke in question:

Hammond's remark last week that "Mexican cars are just going to be lazy, feckless, flatulent, overweight, leaning against a fence asleep looking at a cactus," provoked a storm of criticism. Complaints from viewers began to flood in when Clarkson added to Hammond's insult by joking that the Mexican ambassador would be sleeping in front of the television so wouldn't be able to muster a protest.

Jeremy Clarkson, host of Top Gear, wrote in his column for tabloid The Sun: "...there are calls in Britain at the moment for all offensive humour to be banned. But what people don't realise is that without offence, there can be no jokes. Mexico doesn't have an Olympic team... because anyone who can run, jump or swim is already across the border."

Really? Nope!

In response, Coogan called the hosts "unfunny uber-conservatives".

Gee, I wonder how SB 1070 will be applied to the Top Gear hosts if they decide to film in Arizona.

Eduardo Medina-Mora Icaza, the Mexican ambassador to the UK, has called for an apology. Also, "Jewellery design student Iris de la Torre is to make a claim against the BBC under a new equality law. Her lawyers have demanded the hit BBC2 motoring show is taken off the air and that there is a formal investigation into the incident."

1. I love Top Gear, but
they should stick to commentating on cars.
