A ton of amazing pics of Tahrir/Egypt events by an on-the-ground participant
I came upon this linked in a tweet by someone who was at the demo today. Most of the images we get to see in the news are from far away. These are up-close and right in the thick of it. You get to see what it looked like to actually be there. I found myself wondering how she even got some of these shots (close up of the police, and action, etc.).

I was fascinated by them, and thought you might like to see too.

(I find these demonstrators so admirable - courageous and smart, tough, caring - so many good adjectives would be justified. I hope they achieve what they need, and quickly, without any more harm done to them.)

5. Wow, I wish I could read Arabic!
The few signs in English were great, I'd have loved to know what some of the other signs and graffiti said. But who needed the language anyway? The photographer captured the scenes so vividly, overall they bear powerful witness to the events unfolding.

7. Kick for the daytime crowd
And I'm glad you liked them too, as I did, to all you said thanks. :hi:

After posting the OP, I wasn't around because I found the photographer's blog and was reading it - her writing interested me too:
http://inanities.org/

Here is her twitter page:

And she mentioned a "collaborative blog" of demonstrators (called "Occupied Cairo"), which is here:
http://www.occupiedlondon.org/cairo/

And it's twitter too:
http://twitter.com/occupiedcairo

She seems to be part of a very interesting circle of activists there.
