1. Only if we have overwhelming majorities of real Democrats
in the House and Senate and a Democratic POTUS. Otherwise, it will just mean more dead people.

4. The path to single payer.....
.....cannot be paved, either at the state level, or the national level, with the current crop of Republicans in power in Congress and the state. I just do not see how it is possible.

6. So even if it is with just the states with Dem govs and leges, it should be done.
Several successful state models will show the way, I hope. We could use a few more people in CT to build up the state and it would be nice if we ultimately got people here with a great health care system...

Will they give an opinion before the 2012 election?

And the public, convinced it must point a loaded gun to its head, will it pull the trigger? If not, single payer is inevitable.

Repealing HCA will accelerate the move to SP, but you have to have the house.
