4. It should be the Constitution
But in practice, the real law is whatever the cops and the courts will enforce.

They may be dead wrong on some matters and in violation of the Constitution, but what real-world difference does that make if no one stops them?

For instance, I don't remember the 4th Amendment being repealed, but it doesn't seem to count anymore.

Why?

How can that be legal?

I don't think it IS legal, but if the Feds show up at your door who's going to stop them?

The day-to-day law of the land is whatever enough people believe it is and are willing to fight for.

And Americans no longer believe in the Constitution (although they LOVE to mention it).

6. I would argue that the cops and courts who ignore the constitution are violating the law.

10. I agree with you.
My point is that the law is no help to any of us unless our nation, its citizens, its courts, and its law enforcement are committed to following the law.

And they're not.

5. None of the above.
The Constitution, federal and local laws are all ignored if the corporate aristocracy demands it.

Our masters are the people who raid and run the corporations. We are allowed to thrive, or not, based on what is best for them - the corporations and the 300 or so people who control them. We are ruled by their whim.

If you disagree with me than look at some of those leaked diplomatic cables. No concern for the reputation or the needs of American citizens are ever made in those cables. It is all about the corporations and what they want.

We are ruled, controlled and manipulated by the whims of about 300 very rich people. Even the president and supreme court dance to their tune.
The pretense of a Constitution or even a bible is there to make you feel better.

9. And all treaties signed become a part of that supreme law.
Something to chew on.
