Will the big rush of planes out of Egypt be used as cover for rendition?

Given the recent information, I think it's worth asking. Do we know? Would we find out?

It could be a layover for an ongoing rendition, as well as a destination.

Anywhere could be a layover for a rendition. The planes are going to countries from where people will be able to get connecting flights. The State dept site currently says "flights are expected to travel to Istanbul, Turkey, Athens, Greece, and Nicosia, Cyprus." But using a plane full of evacuating American citizens, from an airport where you've asked American citizens to turn up and wait, seems the dumbest way of trying to move a prisoner secretly that I can think of.

You seem to really want there to be some rendition going on, so that it can be uncovered. As aquart points out above, Egypt has been a destination for rendition, because it tortures. It may have been a stopover for flights from Afghanistan to Morocco or Guantanamo in the past; but I can't see any reason why they'd want to continue using it like that in the middle of an upheaval like this.

And we don't know where documentation is going to end up. So, no. Rendition is not an option out of Egypt at the moment.

And if Americans are being tortured in Croatia, although I can't think why they would feel obligated since we were so little use to them, YOU NEED TO PROVIDE A LINK TO THE STORY.
