They're going to leave everything in place for a few more days. A sign
said, "Due to the weather, we've removed and archived all paper and
perishable (not sure of that word- MFM) items.
.
.
Pretty big -- laid out in wandering pathways -- a lot of tiles and slate
pieces with writing and votive candles and mementos/knickknacks on
them. I saw what looked like 2 shot glasses in a cardboard carrier
(like a fast-food drink carrier) and thought, "Strange, this is the first
time I've been here' (turned out to be a cool dual-votive candle holder).
.
.
A LOT of messages from children -- many from adults. Nothing profound --
just simple expressions of love and support and goodwill.
.
.
My favorite. A piece - obviously done by a child -- "Dear Gabby, See
you soon. Roberto, Monica and Babba."
.
.
A good place and time for reflection and introspection. Very powerful.

1. Sounds like a really nice shrine to her...
I'm glad you got to see it, but I'm sorry it was because you were hospitalized there...

From all reports, it sounds as though she's making incredibly good progress.

Recommended.

4. Aw, MFM!
I haven't been around much lately, didn't know you were back to the hospital. Hope you're feeling better and never ever ever go back, young man!!

But glad you had an uplifting experience. Ms Giffords is a true inspiration, bless her heart.

7. Thank you, everybody... for your good wishes for me. I'm glad I posted this.
.

.
When I approached it, I was pretty preoccupied with my own situation and
thought it would be "interesting" to see. In virtually no time at all, it
turned into an profoundly inspirational experience -- definitely putting
my personal problems into perspective.
.
.
.
It also made me wish that every single one of the outrage-outrage-outrage
people on the Right would come and slowly look at each piece -- read them
ALOUD -- and see that there ARE other ways to deal with horrific situations...
ways other than anger and hatred and fear.
.
.
.
I didn't spot one little hint that any of those three emotions had been present
in ANY of the visitors to that shrine.
.
.
.
It was beautiful.

8. I'm so glad you posted this...
The fact that you were moved when you only thought you'd find it "interesting" tells me you're a man of sensitivity and intelligence...

I'm so glad you're a part of DU...

You make it a better place.

Yes, you do...

Especially the childrens' creations.
