Here is a note about gun fire

this is not something you will get from hollywood pictures, or tv programs. IN an urban environment it is very hard to tell WHERE the shots are coming from. It add to the fun.

If somebody is shooting at you from high on a hill... you can tell it apart most of the time. But in a city, due to the canyon effect and echoes, it is hard. Why if you hear this from any news critter, this is why.

For the record I hate that.

I highly recommended NOT to turn on the TV earlier in the night, if he was prone to flashbacks. I'll live with it.

I live near a trauma unit (less than 2 blocks away) and the helicopters going back and forth drove an American friend to distraction....he's a vietnam vet too. We finally headed to Muskoka environs, just to give his nervous system a break.

I'm a typical urbanite, just react to gunfire in the area by sitting on the floor, turning off lights if I can reach them, and waiting for the fucking idiots to run out of ammo or just go away.

It's usually drive by stuff one street over here, often one car of thugs shooting at another car of thugs.

6. Yes. I know that from living in my neighborhood here in the good ol' US.

The sound reverberates off all the windows in the house as well. The only reason I know that the shots are likely coming from in front of the house or to the left is because that's where the gang members live/hang out.
