We Invaded Iraq, Why Not Invade Egypt?
Edited on Wed Feb-02-11 09:13 PM by KingOfLostSouls
where are the drumbeats of war?

where are the bumper stickers to "bomb their ass and take their gas?"

where is fox news saying we need to "fight them there so we don't fight them here."

where is "freedom on the march?"

we were told we had to invade iraq to liberate their people from a brutal dictator who tortured and murdered his own people.

and yet where is the right when it comes to dealing with this dictator who tortures and murders his own people?

that's right. they are supporting him. their support of freedom, and understanding of foreign affairs is infantile at best.

edit: some people need to look up the definition of sarcasm and irony before they post, btw.

9. Not tired enough
or there'd be more of a backlash against the continued occupation of Iraq and the escalation in Afghanistan.

And there'd be constant calls to stop spending all the money we don't have on them.

Americans are not nearly as tired of the wars as they should be.

11. Egypt has considerable oil reserves. They produce ~700,000 barrels per day. nt

13. Because we don't have Bush Jr. in the White House with a hardon for Saddam.
I think people greatly underestimate the role in the formation of the Iraq War that was played by stupid, asinine, redneck-style desire for vengeance and to out-do daddy.

3. Thats why it is best to comment on concepts.
If you support a person, not a concept, you have to jump through the hoops of if they are being sincere or not.

If you comment on a concept, then it applies to those that knows it applies to them.

4. So if we don't support invading Egypt, we're supporting Mubarak?
Or does that just apply to those who supported the Iraq invasion. I'm confused.

7. sarcasm
simply put, the republicans have no concept of freedom, not to mention that they're more than willing to throw 80million people under the bus.

that and the iraq war was bullshit.

5. That would be THE WORST thing we could do.
Wouldn't lose a lot of sleep, personally, if Washington quietly informed President Mubarak that he can sleep in comfort anywhere in the world outside Egypt, or he can sleep forever in Cairo.

His choice.

10. "We" did not invade Iraq. I had nothing to do with it. I would like to
say it was done over my dead body, but that would have been to easy for the stampeders in this country at the time.

17. Wrong again. Even if I do pay taxes, other than my vote, I have
absolutely nothing nothing to say about what is done with the money after that.
