Moseley Braun calls Mayoral opponent crack addict.

The latest issue began Sunday at a candidate forum at Trinity United Church of Christ after Watkins criticized Braun as being "missing in action" on Chicago issues since losing her bid for re-election to the U.S. Senate in 1998.

"Patricia, the reason you didn't know where I was for the last 20 years is because you were strung out on crack," Braun said. "I was not strung out on crack. I don't have a record."

Watkins said she doesn't have a record either. A search of public records showed no criminal cases involving Watkins in Chicago.

understood while in office. Her trips to Africa caused horrible suffering. Her statements were as clueless as Palin's are today.

I honestly feel sad for her and I'm far from one of her supporters. She thought she was gonna be a big player in this election and her past is catching up with her...and in the black community. But then if it wasn't for her previous incompetence, Barack Obama might still be a State Senator.

She would visit her friendly dictator in Nigeria, and reach out to "the people." They were foolish enough to believe her words. So they came out and asked for reforms. The instant she returned to the states, thousands would be arrested, tortured, beaten, fired from jobs. Not once, not twice, but every visit she made to Abacha. I know, because one of my students was a prosecutor from Nigeria. He was heartbroken about what was happening because of her interference.
